CID dismisses controversies about David Openy’s death.

The police Criminal Investigation Department has dismissed controversies about the death of AlP David Openy.

The late David Openy who was one of the top investigators on the state house anti-corruption unit headed by Lt Col Judith Nakalema passed on on 4th June 2020, at St Francis Nsambya Hospital.
In a statement, CID spokesperson Charles Twiine clarifies that the officer died of natural illness as indicated on the death certificate given to his immediate family members.
Sections of media have been relating his death to unconfirmed reports that it was because he was investigating theft of food and procurement scandals in the prime minister’s office.
Twine notes that such allegations are not only immoral but also criminal.

Singer Eddy kenzo returns to Uganda

Singer Eddy kenzo on 25th of July 2020 returned to his mother land Uganda after spending almost six month in West Africa where he went for a music concert but unfortunately corona virus hit the world and he could not return to Uganda. Eddy Kenzo and other fellows who repatriated from West Africa. Eddy kenzo on his Facebook page expressed his Pleasure for him returning back to the country as below; Fellow Ugandans, I greet you in the name of Allah and the almighty God. Today, I and other Ugandans arrived safely at the Entebbe International Airport aboard Uganda Airlines. First and foremost, I thank God for enabling me to come back home safely. This all seemed like a far fetched possibility but by His Grace, I and very many Ugandans have been repatriated back home safely. I would like to thank everyone that pushed and prayed for my return. Ministry of education burns falls information circulating on social media.

 The Ministry of Education and Sports has dismissed as false a communication purportedly attributed to the Chairperson of the COVID 19 Taskforce, stating that schools will reopen next year. According to document that was making rounds on social media, candidate classes will return to school in August 2020, national exams will be held early 2021 while other schools will also open next year. But Mr Patrick Muinda, the ministry of Education spokesman, said the information communicated is false, misleading and must therefore be dismissed and ignored. “The Ministry of Education and Sports does not issue Circulars and Policy guidelines through Social Media as a formal channel for Policy Communication. The formal communication with regard to the guidelines for re-opening schools will therefore be communicated to the Public as soon as the final consultative process ends,” he said on Thursday evening.
