Gulu Covid-19 case hits 57.

This evening, Gulu Regions Referral hospital has received 44 new confirmed cases totaling to 57.

 All are recieving treatment at a isolation facility at the hospital.
The newly expanded facility is the clinical school near the hospital.

 Among these, two are confirmed case from the community (one was in the quarantine facility in Pablo while the other was in isolation in Gulu) and they have been in contact with the truck drivers and all these truck drivers are Ugandans whose s
amples were tasted positive from Elegu boarder post in Amuru district.

 It has been noted that all the 57 are in a stable condition and the medical team are working hard to help them get well in time and resume back home, said Ojara Martin Mapenduzi on behalf of Covid-19 Task force, Guilty.

MPs appeal for special support to border districts over Covid-19 pandemic

Hon. Santa Alum, Woman Representative, Oyam District. Legislators have beseeched government to give preferential treatment to the border districts with regard to resource allocations in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.   The MPs hailing from the border districts told Parliament chaired by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga that the border points were ill prepared to manage the rising cases of the coronavirus, fearing that the fight against the pandemic could even be prolonged if nothing is done. They also questioned the rationale of allocating equal resources to all districts across the country, including those without cases, in response to Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda’s weekly update on the pandemic to Parliament on Thursday, 21 May 2020. Singer Bobi Wine also Kyadondo East’s Member of Parliament on Sunday 28th June 2020 held a Scientific Concert termed Freedom Concert.
